About Baryons
Baryons is building the next generation of AI-driven flourishing and conversation platforms — intelligent systems that help people grow, reflect, and thrive through meaningful dialogue. Our products combine voice, memory, and human insight to create interactions that feel natural, personal, and alive.
As a science-backed, patent-pending organization, we’re defining a new category of human-AI connection — one that’s grounded in psychology, neuroscience, and the science of human flourishing.
We’re looking for an AI Lead (AI / Agent Developer) to help architect and evolve the intelligence that powers our conversational systems — designing multi-agent reasoning frameworks, structured memory, and adaptive dialogue models that bring purpose and presence to every interaction.
Role Overview
As an AI Lead, you’ll design, build, and scale the systems that enable Baryons’ agents to think, reason, and evolve. You’ll work primarily in Python, leveraging frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, and LangFlow to orchestrate complex agent behaviors — integrating real-time context, multi-turn reasoning, and persistent memory.
You’ll collaborate directly with the CTO and cross-functional teams across AI, voice, and backend engineering to define architecture patterns, development standards, and deployment strategies for agentic intelligence.
This is a hands-on leadership role for a builder who wants to shape how intelligence itself is engineered — combining deep system design with empathy for human experience and growth.
Key Responsibilities
Architect and develop intelligent multi-agent systems using LangChain, LangGraph, and LangFlow.
Design and implement structured memory frameworks (e.g., pgvector, PostgreSQL, or other vector databases) for long-term context persistence and recall.
Build and optimize Python-based AI services integrating LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or local models) via API or SDK.
Develop orchestration flows for reasoning, retrieval, and decision-making that enable adaptive, context-aware behavior.
Collaborate with AI, voice, and backend teams to align agent intelligence with product design and conversational UX goals.
Integrate observability and analytics for tracking model performance, token efficiency, and behavioral accuracy.
Contribute to internal AI frameworks, defining reusable patterns for chain construction, workflow definition, and memory updating.
Mentor engineers in agent design, prompt engineering, and system evaluation.
Ensure AI reliability and safety, implementing ethical and compliance standards in all production systems.
Collaborate with DevOps to support cloud deployments (GCP, Azure, OCI) and CI/CD automation for AI workloads.
Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of Python development experience, with emphasis on AI, data, or backend systems.
Deep experience with LangChain, LangGraph, and LangFlow or similar frameworks.
Strong understanding of LLM orchestration, contextual reasoning, and memory systems.
Experience with vector databases (pgvector, Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS, etc.) and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) patterns.
Familiarity with FastAPI or equivalent frameworks for scalable AI microservices.
Experience in prompt templating, tool usage, and chain graph design.
Understanding of LLM observability, evaluation, and performance tuning.
Familiarity with Docker and CI/CD pipelines for AI deployment.
Strong version control and collaboration practices using Git.
Excellent communication skills and ability to lead through influence and technical depth.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
Experience with speech and voice interfaces (LiveKit, Twilio, Whisper, or TTS/STT APIs).
Knowledge of LangSmith, OpenAI Assistants API, or Vertex AI.
Familiarity with ethical AI, content safety, and compliance frameworks.
Experience integrating AI agents into multi-modal systems (chat, voice, mobile, or web).
Knowledge of AI-driven UX, cognitive science, or applied psychology.
Interest in human flourishing, reflective technologies, and systems that improve well-being.
What Makes You a Fit
You’re an engineer who sees AI not as a replacement for people, but as a catalyst for growth. You thrive on building frameworks that make intelligence modular, transparent, and humane. You balance technical precision with creative curiosity — and you believe AI should serve the deepest parts of what makes us human.
You don’t just build agents.
You build systems that help people flourish.
